Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev sent a congratulatory telegram to two-time Olympic champion Ilya Ilyin, Tengrinews.kz reports citing President’s press-service. “I congratulate you on the glorious victory in the weightlifting tournament on the 30th summer Olympic Games in London. Setting the world record and winning the second Olympic gold, you have proved that you keep your promises and you always strive for the highest sport result. You left no chances to your opponents, world’s strongest weightlifters. Good job!” the telegram states. The President also noted that Ilyin’s victory was a big success and would go down in the history of Kazakhstan’s sport. Nazarbayev wished more brilliant victories to the athlete. Ilyin also broke the clean and jerk record with a lift of 233kg.
